“Designing water may sound absurd. However, as we eventually face more and more environmental issues, design has to design every side of it”. These words by Roberto Marcatti, editor of the book, introduce the subject of the book - a current issue that inspired the Fuori Salone 2006 exhibition, where designers, architects and graphic designers highlighted the social and civil vocation of water, and underlined the connections between design and communications, as well as the unresolved problems of the daily living.
The result is a selection of moods and thoughts that promote a different sensibility, an idea to recovery, conserve, distribute, protect and save water. Here, graphic projects alternate with design hypothesises, critical and less critical considerations by anthropologists, university professors, writers and journalists reveal an unexpected scenario of points of views.
The essential and linear graphic layout allows the reader to follow the main critical programme of images and texts.
